Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") is a complete Web Authoring System that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG web page editing. Nvu is designed to be extremely easy to use, making it ideal for non-technical computer users who want to create an attractive, professional-looking web site without needing to know HTML or web coding. (description taken from the Nvu site)

It is a free open source program, available for Windows, Linux & Mac OS X. The Nvu project was started from the Mozilla Composer codebase and uses the same Gecko engine as Firefox for rendering pages.

The latest version which has just been released is the second pre-release version (version 1 due sometime in the first quarter of 2005)
