    Keyboard Shortcut for MSIE 5.5

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to open MSIE 5.5 like there is for Windows Explorer (ie: windows key + E). I am using NT4 and I have to go through the start menu or desktop to open MSIE. This can be a little frustrating because I am used to the shortcut icons on the taskbar on my old Win98 system.

    Thanks for your help.

You could try Ctrl+Alt+I. That's what my shortcut is, but I don't know if I added it or if it's OTB.

If that doesn't work, right-click the IE Shortcut icon. On the shortcut tab is the shortcut key box. If that's blank, any letter you press will create a Ctrl+Alt key combo.

Thanks for the advice. It worked. For the record, I had to create the shortcut key as per your instructions, it wasn't built in. This is a very handy feature.

I'm one of those <img src=/S/granny.gif border=0 alt=granny width=20 height=20> relics that just refuses to give up the keyboard. If there's a shortcut key, or I can create one... it's there!

    FYI:
You should find that using the windows key + the first letter of the shortcut on your start menu works if there is only one shortcut beginning with that letter.
If you have multiple shortcuts beginning with the same letter, you could arrange your shortcuts by renaming them with a numerical prefix: e.g.
    1 Internet Explorer
    2 Iomega Zip
    3 Imaging
In this case, Windows + 1 should open up IE.
