    Flagging as 'Read' (MSO2K sr1-a)

Is there any flag, rule, or way to, when a message comes in, to (assuming I am moving it to a specific folder) flag it as "read" without opening it?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Is this not one of the options available in the Rules Wizard? HTH

Did you try right clicking the message and selecting "Mark as Read"? (Can also be done with multiple messages, I think.)

Tools>Rules and Alerts>New Rule>Start from a Blank Rule>Check Messages When They Arrive>Sent only to me (or whatever)>Move to a specific folder>Mark as read.

I don't see the "Mark As Read" as a choice...

Did it come in later versions?

That's possible Chuck. I'm using 2003 and don't have access to a machine with 2K.

Like John, |'m running 2003, but I distinctly remember it in 2000 - about the second or third step in. HTH

Why would you want to mark as read if you did NOT read it?

I'm afraid I can't see it at all in Outlook 2000 - I think it may have come in with 2002.

Chuck, my apologies. You are quite right. It is not in the Outlook 2000 Rules Wizard. You might be able to persuade one of our Outlook coding gurus to set something up for you, although they are usually more occupied with issues in later versions of Outlook.
