PowerPC supports windows? (Windows NT to 2003)

can any one tell me what happened to the proposed idea of running every O/S ever written on the PowerPC Platform/Common Hardware Reference Platform (PPCP/CHRP)? I was looking forward to switching between Apple and Microsoft on a whim, using the same machine. This seems to have dropped below my horizon recently.

It seems that the more common question these days is "Why won't Apple post their OS to the x86 platform?". I'd guess that for MS there is nothing to gain from supporting the PowerPC hardware. It is probably more time, expense, and trouble than it is worth.
