So where's the catch?

It sounds too good to be true, so I guess it is. But where's the catch? As soon as I read their "definition" of OEM software, I smelled "con job". Is it legal to sell OEM without hardware anyway? So what's wrong with this whole deal?

That URL looks sufficiently squirrely to me that I won't click on it. What did you see that raised your eyebrows?

Can you find their address or a telephone number anywhere on the site?

Why are their prices in dollars when they are called OEM Solutions Ltd?

Do you agree with their definition:
"OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) which means that you will only download software via the Internet, without spending too much money on shipping. This is the only difference."

See if you're happy about a WHOIS check: http://reports.internic.net/cgi/whois?whoi...nfo&type=domain

As I said in the OP, I smelled a rat when I saw their "definition" of OEM. Your lookup revealed a lot more. Registrant is supposedly "IDAN Graphics & CAD Ltd." in Israel - why then "OEM" software and why US dollars? Hmmm... I don't think I really need pursue it further.

Ah, a plain ol' spam scam - that makes more sense. I was actually sent the link by a well-meaning colleague, so I thought it might have some legitimacy. I guess it's probably just a "gimme your credit card number... we ain't got no software today."

Lots on Google about it too e.g. OEM software scams on the rise

You mean you actually *see* those emails?? Don't you have Junk-Out or something similar installed? I never see that kind of thing any more. They may send it, but I don't see it.
