Problem after installing SP2 (6/5.00.0000.0000)

I recently installed Windows XP SP2 from the CD obtained from Microsoft. Since then I am unable to open any hyperlinks located on my computer but have no trouble when I am on the Internet opening links. I also can not open hyperlinks from messages in Outlook Express. I originally had problems with email links but I reset all the active X items to accept or prompt that seemed to fix things in that area.
I have all the latest critical patches from Microsoft and have checked almost daily for spyware.
Does any one have a possible solution?

I tried it and yes it looks good but didn't sort the problem. It is more annoying than anything else but it would be nice to resolve it for my own personal information.

Hey Ray !! Don't give up so easily, my friend. Try this......

Go to Start>Run, type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll then hit Enter

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools>Internet Options>Programs and click on Reset Web Settings.

Hi DocWatson, gave it a try but still the same. It was a good lead though, thanks.
As I say it all works from other applications such as Access it is just from OE it doesn't. Obviously installing SP2 has changed something to prevent it working. I guess it is a supposed security fix which sees clicks to the Internet from OE as a possible security hazard.
As you suggest I WONT give up. If I do I would feel that MS had won whioch I dont accept.

Stubborn, eh ?? I came across this fix here.

When you press the underlined blue text in Outlook Express, or Word, nothing happens.
To fix this problem:
1. Copy / Paste the following to a register_DLL.bat file: (to create this file use Notepad and name the file register_DLL.bat)
@echo off
cd /d %SystemRoot%SYSTEM32
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll
2. Double-click the register_DLL.bat file.
