Signatures with Logos (2000 & XP)

I have created a signature in Windows 2000 with two logos attached. It appears to work fine when added to computers running on Windows 2000, but when I attempt to install the signature on a computer running Windows XP the HTML file shows up in the messages without the logos, and with an error message "You current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly". Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? Should I try recreating the files on an XP machine and installing the new files instead of the ones created on Windows 2000? Please help!!! Thanks, Tiffany

This should only arise when you are using HTML format. From what you are saying, it is not clear whether your XP machines have SP2 installed. If you try running a search on Google with the following terms,

-digital ActiveX controls security settings Outlook signature site:microsoft.com

you may find something that responds specifically to your situation. It may not be the case that recreating the signatures on an XP machine will be a "fix".

There must be some code in your HTML signature file other than just graphics. For example, SmartTags, if Word was used to create the file. Manual editing out of all the garbage usually is the best way to go.
