    Updating fields (2002)

    If in a Word doc I have several form fields each with a drop down menu, then various REF fields...how can I have the user who is selecting from the various drop downs get the form to update those REF fields "automatically?" I thought there must be a button or something I could use, but can't for the life of me find out how to do this. (since the form needs to be locked for the drop downs to work, the user can't even select all and use F9).

    Unprotect the document.
    Double click a dropdown form field.
    Tick the "Calculate on Exit" check box.
    Click OK.
    Repeat for the other dropdown form fields.
    Protect the document.
    The REF fields will be updated when the user tabs out of the dropdown form field or clicks in another form field, not when the user selects an item from the dropdown list.
