Adding months to a date (Excel 2000)

I have a cell with a date placed in service of let's say 4/1/1995 and in another a total of months to depreciate, say 368. How do I add those months to that date? thanks.

    Select Tools | Add-Ins...
Tick the check box for Analysis ToolPak (if it hasn't been ticked already).
    Click OK

The Analysis ToolPak makes the worksheet function EDATE available. Say that your date is in cell A1. The formula to add 368 months to that date is

    =EDATE(A1,368)

You will probably have to format the cell with the formula as a date - Excel doesn't seem to do this automatically.

If you don't want to use the Analysis toolpak that Hans mentioned, and the inservice date is in A1 and the depreciation months is in B1, then you can use this formula:

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+B1,DAY(A1))
