Want to delete new tool bar (Professional sp2)

Sometime over the last weekend, a new toolbar appeared on my Explorer. The wife was using the computer, and I have no idea what she clicked on to get it. My question, now, is how do I get rid of it? I can right click an entry at the bar end and exit from it at that point, but it just comes back.

    Help, please.

You've probably been infected. See <!post=Tutorials & Links to Detection & Removal Tools,385669>Tutorials & Links to Detection & Removal Tools<!/post> for more information on detection and removal of malware.

Buy her a machine and leave it alone and she will leave yours alone.
I have found this to be the BEST fix one a do. And DO NOT give her your old messed up machine, let her set up the new one the way she wants it.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

What's the toolbar for ??? It might be something useful like Google and not something associated with malware. We are assuming that it's bad without knowing what it is. My guess is that it's not something you want, but let's be sure. You could just ask "the wife" what she was doing when she first noticed the toolbar and what she had done just prior to it's appearance (like downloaded something or updated a messenger service or some such thing).

Thanks to all that responded. I don't want it because it takes up screen space. I ran the new AdAware SE last night ( boy, what an improvement over the original) and found 341 things it didn't like. But I didn't get back to looking at IE. I''ll post back if it's still there.

What were you using to make this post if not IE ??? Glad that Adaware se worked out for you. Have you also updated Spybot S&D to version 1.3 ?? If you are running version 1.2 it will not tell you that there is a newer version available. Since Adaware found so many things, you might want to clear the system with Spybot as well.

A tip from somewhere told me to look alt pchell.com. I did and found out how to remove it. Just use the Program Delete under the Control Panel. I can't think of the program name (boy, it's fun to be old), but it's pretty close to bottom.
