    winmail.dat attachment? (2K, SR-1)

Someone pointed out that an attachment was being made to my outgoing email. A copy of the information is attached to this post.

Can anyone help me identify it and determine where it comes from and what purpose it serves (if any) and how to undo it if possible?

    Re: winmail.dat attachment? (2K, SR-1)

This is due to the format that you are sending your e-mail in is not understood by the e-mail client that the person who receives the e-mail is using.
Additional file Winmail.dat is included in received messages that are sent by Outlook 2000 (IMO)

    See
Additional file Winmail.dat is included in received messages that are sent by Outlook 2000 (IMO) (internet mail version)
Winmail.dat attachments are included in received messages in Outlook 2000 (corporate workgroup version)
Both contain links to MSKB articles about preventing winmail.dat from being sent with your mail.
