Teamplate in Shared Folder (Word 2K)

I saved a "dot" template in a shared folder on the Network. I want others to access the template from Word on their PCs and get a new non-template "doc" document. I've tried everything but I always open the "dot" template, not a new "doc" document. Any ideas? Thanks in advcance!

In Word, define the location of your workgroup templates. All workgroup templates should be in one location. Tools>Options>File Locations, highlight Workgroup templates and click "modify". Browse (or enter) the path to your template. This information will have to be entered for each user. As it is configured currently, your users are opening the template rather than creating a new document based on the template.
