Wordperfect equivalent Strokes (2000/2002)

Would like to perform a Wordperfect Keystroke equivalent in Word. In WP you can Type text that is left justified, tap the Shift F7 key to center the next thing you want to type, the Alt F7 to the right for right jusfied text.
ABC (Shift F7) DEF...........(Alt F7, Alt F7).............................................GH I
Any idea if this can be accomplished with KEYSTROKES ONLY in Word?
Thanks

Hi there horatius -

Not without creating a style and/or a macro(s) to do it for you. Unfortunately for those coming from a WordPerfect environment (as most of us have) the transition is painful -- particularly for us die-hard rodentaphobic keyboarders .

WordPerfect is linear in its logic (more in tune with the way people think) while Word isn't -- thus Word's lack of such quick formatting keystrokes. If you're willing to spend a bit of time setting this up, I'll be happy to provide you with detailed instructions. Otherwise, you can copy the formatted paragraph in the attached, remove the text and just press tab between the "columns". After you've created as many lines as you need to be formatted like this way, press Ctrl+Shift+n to return to your normal formatting.

I hope this helps.

This article has some useful tips on setting tabs.
With the ruler, they are set up quickly, and if you do that in a style, you may only have to do that once.

Can you set center and right margin tabs? It works in Word 2002. I can type text at left margin, tab to center for more text, and then tab again for right margin align.
