    rename file with date

    Hi
    Can anyone guide me a .bat file how can rename
    file with date eg: c:sample.htm to c:sample_2005_01_31.htm

    If I take your question at face value, all you need is

    REN c:sample.htm sample_2005_01_31.htm

    If, however, you want to rename all the .HTM files in a directory to include today's date in the filename, please give some examples of the actual file names, and I'll see what I can do.
