Emails using 'Delivery Options' not being deleted

On sending out emails by ticking the radio boxes "Do not deliver before" and "Expires After" in the Delivery Options within the Message Options to allow emails to be sent on a future date. l have then deleted these emails in the Sent Items as l do not want them to be sent (creating them by mistake) after clicking on the Send button when l have created the email but for some odd reason they still appear to be sent on the specified date.
    See attachment.
Is there any reason why the emails are still sent but yet they have been deleted?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Justin.

Re: Emails using 'Delivery Options' not being dele

    Hi,
We need a few more details about your email setup. I assume you are on an Exchange Server but what version of Outlook are you using and does your mail get delivered to a local pst or to your Exchange Mailbox?
There used to be two different versions of deferment - deferred submission and deferred delivery. The former, which sounds a lot like what you describe, cannot be recalled (or at least not from Outlook) because the message has been despatched to the Exchange Server's MTA queue, which then holds it until the prescribed time. The latter would allow you to delete it from your Exchange mailbox's Outbox.
