    Won't save settings

I just loaded Windows 2000 OS on a brand new computer. I have noticed that when using Windows Explorer and choosing which way I want to view the folders, the settings reset to the original default settings everytime I restart or reboot the system. Then I have to go and reset them. I have looked every logical place to see if I'm missing some setup switch or selection especially in the "view" menu but I can't find anything that help.

    Any suggestions?

    Dave,

You should set the view as you wish. Then go to Tools | Folder Options | View and 'press' Apply to all Folders.

If Joe's suggestion doesn't work like you expect, take a look at this post.

Will this work on windows 2000? I didn't get a chance to try the first one yet as I was otherwise preoccupied over the weekend.

Short answer: yes. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> Windows XP is essentially Windows 2000 with enhancements added in (Win2000 is version 5.0, WinXP is version 5.1).
