Data changed by another user message (2003)

Every now and again I get a spate of the 'Data changed by another user, Copy to Clip board or Drop changes' messages, and I can't figure out what I am doing that is causing them. I think it is something to do with bound forms and code both changing the data, but why it happens in some situations and not others is a mystery to me. Is there a definitive list of things that you should or shouldn't do if you want to avoid this message?

It probably is connected with bound forms and code both changing data, since that is the most common cause of that message. One common cause is a parent form and subform bound to the same recordset. In that situation, the subform should be bound only to the child table it populates.

Another possible problem is using code to update a record (using an update query) while the record is still dirty on your form; so you have 2 processes from the same user causing that error.
