    Are you going after Rudi, only accepting the answer you had in mind? The sequence <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">11^0, 11^1, 11^2, 11^3, ...</span hide> perfectly fits the given items.

    I fully agree with Tony: there are two possible ways of "logically" extending the given items. I gave one of them, Tony the other. IMHO, both are valid solutions in the sense that they extrapolate the given items according to a fixed and logical "rule" that is implicit in the given items. In fact, the solutions are closely related:

    I agree Hans, no reason to fall out over what is in effect a bit of fun.

    I had Pascals in mind from the start and wanted to get the hook in because at first glance it does look as though the expression would expand as Tony and yourself first assumed. Here is the flaw in the argument, AFAIK you made an assumption that was wrong although you got the 5th term correct, it was for the wrong reason. This is the reason I brought in the 6th term as a twist.

    The final method that you have shown is how we calculate our 11^n using Pascals triangle.
