Tricks with Thunderbird (version 1.0 (20041206))

OK. If not a trick, a little effort-saver:

I discovered today that i can select names from my address book (Click, Shift-Click, Ctrl-Click) and when I choose the Write tool, all selected addresses are loaded into the TO: box.

Up until now I'd been issuing a Write on one address, then returning to the address book to select the remaining addresses using the TO: and CC: buttons.

    Chirs,
That's pretty good! Instead of starting with the address book, I usually start a blank message, then add addresses with the auto-complete feature (Start typing an address, and T-bird will offer a short list of all addresses that contain - not just start with - that string. For multiple addresses, your short cut would work better.

Incidentally, I found that if you create a new list, you can select all the names (Ctrl-Click style) then "slide" them to the new list all at once.

What's this? A group of adderssees? If so, how do I create? I can't see anything in the File, New menu area.
    Thanks.

Address Book Tool Bar: the icon next to "New Card" is the one for a "New List".
Address Book menu: File > New > Mailing List...
<img src=/S/whisper.gif border=0 alt=whisper width=29 height=17>Be sure you select the correct address folder on the left tree pane.

A new dialog opens. Give the list a name. If you want to, type in the recipients in the group. Or, just name the group and click "OK". Once the list is in the address book pane, just select your addresses, and drag and drop them on to the mailing list icon.
