    Works 7.0 default save

I posted this similar question before, regarding Works 2001 and didn't resolve it then.

Now I have Works 7.0 and I would like to change the default location/folder that Works save it's files in. The default is C:docs & settingsusermy documents.
I want to move it to my "F" drive where the actual Works program files are.

Leif had pointed me to a MSKB article but it pertained to Works 4, not Works 7.0

Does anyone have a way to do this?

    Re: Works 7.0 default save

I'd be surprised if they changed such a 'simple' setting like that - did you see if the same information applied?

I can't find anything else applying to Works 7 specifically, so if you can't change it, I think your options are either to customise your locations in the dialog box, or put a shortcut in your "My documents" folder to "F:..." so that you are only a couple of clicks away from where you want to be.

    Leif,
No I guess they didn't change anything like that. It seems the suggestion only applies to the earlier versions.

Supposedly, you can change the locations by using the "save as" option and navigating to the desired location and saving the file there. This you CAN do BUT when you try to access the file again from within Works, it says it can't find that location?
BTW, these are spreadsheets that I'm working with. If I go to the new location in WE, I can click on them and bring up the file in Works OK. Yet, if I click on the file first inside the Works prog, it says it can't find the file. Does that make any sense?

I don't see an options page anywhere in the Works program that even shows you where or what the defaults are, no less a way to change them.
Hard wired options, a new oxymoron?

One of the reasons a LOT of people have moved from MS Works to a Office package.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
