    Creating Categories in Public Folders

    How do I create new categories in a public folder so that all users of the folder can piick from the same set of categories? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Categories are stored in each PCs registry. There is no facility for "public" categories, one of Outlooks shortcomings in an Enterprise. I think you have two choices. 1) You can export that part of your registry for others to import. This will overwrite their categories. 2) You can create a custom form for the folder, with code behind a combo/list box that can manage the folder categories. Item two is not for the faint hearted. Categories are stored as multiple entries is a string field. Manipulating that field properly takes a fair bit of code.
