    Time (Excel 2000)

    Hi all,

Does anyone know how to convert time? I would like to convert 1 hour into 60 minutes.

    thanks,
    Darryl.

    Re: Time (Excel 2000)

If you have a time value, it is stored as a fraction of 1 day. To convert to minutes, multiply by the number of minutes in a day, i.e. 24*60 = 1440.

For example, if A1 contains 1:30, put the formula =1440*A1 in B1, then clear the format for B1 (Excel tends to apply a date format to any calculation involving times). B1 will display 90.
