    Sendmail Failure (Excel 2000/2003)

    I have a workbook that displays the sales figures for a selected sales area. This has a button that runs a procedure to mail the workbook (actually a copy made from that sheet) to the salesman responsible for the area concerned.

    There's a certain amount of code to make the copy, save it and set up the e-mail address of the target, but the actual mail command is:-

    ActiveWorkbook.SendMail Recipients:=Mail$, Subject:=SaveName$

    This works fine in Excel 2003, but falls over in Excel 2000 with the message: Method 'SendMail' of object '_Workbook' failed

    As far as I can see, the SendMail method is supposed to work the same in Excel 2000/2003. Can anyone suggest where I might start looking for the problem?

    What is the default mail application on the PC with Excel 2000?

    With Excel 2003 it's Outlook 2003, with Excel 2000 its Outlook 2000, both with Microsoft Exchange.

    SendMail should indeed work in Excel 2000 with Outlook 2000. Perhaps Problems with sending mail from Excel on Ron de Bruin's website helps.
