Unable to download EXE. Files (XP Home)
Recently installed Lavasoft's AD-AwARE and SpyBot to get rid of spyware. After cleaned I continue to get popup's that are unsuitable for viewing. I also got a "Trojen Horse" virus which I cleaned using McAfee but it keeps coming back.
I cannot update my antivirus or upgrade Windows to SP2. In fact I can't download any executable file. The messages read "website not ready" or unable to connect. I can access all websites but these messages appear whenever I try to download an executable file.
Is the anti spyware causing these problems? I tried uninstalling but it did not work.
Is the virus causing these problems? I tried cleaning in the Safe mode and it seemed to disappear but I still could not update anything.
Can anyone help???

Try running an online security check for virus and trojans.
A good one is SYMANTEC SECURITYBOB
Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
Today it is called golf!
