    Proofing tools (XP)

    I need some help before I drop my machine <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20>
Problem.... I use the standard english proofing tools on my machine (NZ English). Only other proofing tool on this version is the American spelling.
I use the Dutch proofing tools a lot as well.
    HY-NL saved - winword Proof
    MSSP2_NL c:/program files/common files/microsfot shared/proof
    same for MSTH_NL

When I create a new template and I spell check it tells me that it cannot find 2 dll files (msgr3nl.dll and msgpnl32.dll) and also cannot find the files mentioned above. I'm sure I have never before installed special DLL files.

I have done it for years like this and suddenly "bingo" cannot find a thing.

The dutch proofing files are from an older version (legal) and have worked with XP before.

Can someone please help me, because I correspond a lot in Dutch and hate spelling mistakes

    Thanks a bunch

    Re: Proofing tools (XP)

Do you have the installation CD's for the older Dutch version and for your Office XP? If so, you could try the following, but it is not pleasant and I cannot guarantee anything...
    - Uninstall Office XP
    - Use the CD with the older Dutch version to install only the Dutch proofing tools.
    - Reinstall Office XP.
If you're lucky, Office XP recognizes the already installed proofing tools.

It might be more attractive to get the Proofing Tools for Office XP if they are still available.

I don't have the dutch installation CD anymore. I left it "back home" and just copied the lex files.
Do you think they are in the correct place though ???
I just don't understand why I suddenly have this problem. It used to work just fine

Apparently something has become unregistered or ininstalled. Why? <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> happens...

Meddling with the registration of DLL's manually is very tricky; I fear that it's almost impossible to repair this without having the CD. So getting the Proofing Tools for Office XP is probably your best bet.
