Accessing a list of image files

I want to place a group of image files in a folder and want the user to be able to save as the image file. I donnot want them to need to OPEN the file, as they are LARGE.

I have the files there but when I go to the webaddress and folder I get a "Protection error",

    error 403: Forbidden!
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated.

What do I need to do for the list to appear, so the user can "right click, and the select "Save Target as"?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Are you trying to display a Windows Explorer type view of the list of files in the web folder? If so, I believe this is something that is frequently blocked at ISP level by default. (See for example the references to the .htaccess file on this page.)

Dave, please see <!post=this long thread,165842>this long thread<!/post> from a couple of years ago. MarkJ's .ASP work is still active on my web pages. Obviously, your web provider has to allow .ASP and if you want to see what it looks like, go here: http://www.alhoffman.org/visitors/. If you CLICK on an entry it (your browser) will attempt to open the file, but if you RIGHT-CLICK you can save the file to your local drive.

Thanks to the both of you, I think my ISP has protected the folders by default. I will work on the Htaccess file
