    Creating an Outlook mailto from within Excel (Excel 2003 SP1, Outlook 2003

    I am looking to create an outlook form from within Excel. I need some predetermined text within the form, so that essentially the user just has to click on a link within Excel, this will create an outlook form (or just an e-mail). The user would then have to fill in the details/information requested prior to sending the e-mail to a pre-defined mailbox.

    Is this possible, and if so, how?

    Cheers

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge! You can use code like this to create an e-mail:

    ActiveWorkbook.FollowHyperlink "mailto:somebody@somewhere.com"

    or if you want to specify the subject and body too:

    ActiveWorkbook.FollowHyperlink "mailto:somebody@somewhere.com?subject=Test mail&body=Hello there"

    The user can modify the mail before sending it. If you want to send the active workbook as attachment, you can use the SendMail method:

    ActiveWorkbook.SendMail Recipients:="somebody@somewhere.com", Subject:="Test mail"

    Ron DeBruin (microsoft MVP - Excel) has some Example Code for sending mail from Excel that may also be of interest to you.
