If you only want to start the application, you can use Shell:

    Shell "C:Program FilesAppdirMyApp.exe"

with the appropriate path and filename. If you want to control the application from Excel, we would have to know more.

In addition to SHELL (as Hans' suggested) excel can create hyperlinks (insert- hyperlink) that will allow you to point to the file and it will run the assigned app and open the file

    Thank you Hans
    Thank you Steve

    The Shell function works great!

I do have another question, Windows Toolbar, the program that I have opened places an icon in the window that holds the clock and shows some of my settings. Its a Popup menu with 5 options "adjust properties", "Activate", "Suspend" ","About Centurfax KeyMagic". Is there a way to Manpulate that Windows menu?

What I have now is fine, but I am curious to know? Is that VISUAL BASIC?
    Thanks,
    Darryl.

I don't know CenturFax KeyMagic. If it can be manipulated in code, the manufacturer or provider will have information about it.

    Hans,

In the System tray on the windows taskbar, if you had a popup menu, on the right-click menu, can you manipulate those items? Like Activate menu item "Activate".enabled? or is that VB code? From within the Centurex application?

    Thanks,
    Darryl.

I don't know how to let Excel simulate activating the popup menu and selecting an item in it. It's probably not easy. Some, but by no means all applications can be manipulated in code through an API (Application Program Interface). I have no idea whether CenturFax KeyMagic has an API that is available to other programs.
