    Updatable form...maybe (2000)

I continually have to change the data in a field on tables. I was wondering what is the easiest way to to query a table to narrow my data down, and then edit the field that needs changed. thanks for any help.

what is the criteria for finding updatable fields? in your query, include all fields that you know you will have to update, and set the criteria to these fields equal to what you are looking for.

for example, say you needed to update data after 7 days, you could set the criteria of the date entered field to be "<=Date()-7" to find all data that is a week old, or older (without the quotes).

I never let users edit data directly in a table or query, always in a form. On a form, you can place one or more combo boxes to select a value in a field - the combo box wizard is the easiest way to create such combo boxes: make sure that the Control Wizards button on the Toolbox is on (down) before you put a combo box on the form.
