Is this a quiz question, or a request for an opinion Sal?

    Re: top 100 antivirus

Well, from a personal point of view, my current fave is NOD32. I've been happily using NAV for several years now, but found that NOD32 is faster, uses less resources, and detects more malware that NAV ever did. It's also cheaper and doesn't require the <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> product activation that NAV now demands. However, it uses unusual terms for it's various modules, and I can see where it could be confusing. For ease of use, NAV wins hands down.

As far as Panda is concerned, I've never used it.

Software or hardware reviews are just the opinion of the writer at the time. If you Google, one such review you might find is this: Top Windows Antivirus for 2004

    Re: top 100 antivirus

My recently purchased computer came with the trial version of McAfee. The process of obtaining regular virus signature updates is extremely annoying because it opens an IE-based window that triggers all sorts of security alarms and it wants you to restart Windows once it's finished. I do not plan to purchase this product when the trial (and tribulation) ends.

    Sal,

I like F-Prot, which is available from several sources, including here. It is reasonably priced, industrial strength, and you can either have it update automatically or you can receive a notice by email when signatures have been updated.
