Reviewing Pane Font size (Word 2003)

    Hello,

I checked the search feature and didn't find this one. We have two machnes here in the office, both set up the same way (we thought). When we turn on the reviewing pane (no comments please) to view the tracked changes in a document, his comes up in a font so small that you can barely tell which section he's looking at. When mine comes up, the font appears to be the normal 12 point Verdana style we've all come to know and love from Microsoft.

I've attached a picture of the offending area.

I'm not referring to the text of the change, but to the section headers, things like "Main document changes and comments", "Header and footer changes", etc. His is tiny, 8 points or less. Mine is normal, 12 points.

How come, and is there any way to change his so that he can see the section titles?

    Thanks in advance.

Yours and mine both look like 10 point bold Tahoma (I use Word 2002). I suspect it's a Windows display setting rather than a Word setting, but at the moment I can't play around with that to try to figure out which one it might be.

Re: Reviewing Pane Font size (Word 2003)

    Thanks.

I just took a good look at the other machine. His is set the same way, but his screen resolution is higher (1024 x 768) whereas mine is 800 x 600. But that's still not it, because when I changed his screen resolution, the reviewing pane was larger than before, but still not as large as mine. I checked the Appearance settings, and we both have the same thing set. So I don't think it's a Windows thing, even though at first it appears to be.

But this sort of answers my question, in that the answer seems to be that the size of the font in this pane is beyond the control of Word. Still would like to be able to adjust it, though.

    It's strange:

When I'm in the Reviewing pane, Selection.Style is "Comment text".

But if I change the font size of the "Comment text" style, only the "real" comment text gets bigger, not the tracked changes.

One other thought. If your friend were to click in that pane, then mouse over the zoom percentage control on the Standard toolbar, does it change to something lower than 100%?
