    Alignment of logo

I am trying to work out how to in CSS how to align the attached logo with the left and side columns and the top of the navbar as it appears to overlap the navbar.
Can this easily be done in CSS?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Justin.

    Re: Alignment of logo

If I recall correctly from your other thread, the two items in the top box are centered, and there is some padding on the nav bar that may be responsible for the white space above it. I don't understand what you want to accomplish in this post. Can you use a graphic editing program to "mock up" the change you want to see?

    If you visit:
    http://clubsoton.port5.com/index.html

you will see what l am tying to achieve with regards trying to get the logo aligned with the top of the navbar and the right hand side of the body of the CSS.
If l were to send you the CSS would you be able to resolve this issue?

    Re: Alignment of logo

You have three choices: make your page narrower to fit the graphic; enlarge the graphic in an editing program; or have the user's browser stretch the graphic by setting the IMG tag's width attribute to the width you want to fill (this will cause some distortion if it is anything other than the true width of the image). There is no other trick that I know of to fill the white space.

    Re: Alignment of logo

I have tried all of these solutions but no luck if l were to send you the CSS file and index file could you
possibly alter them and put a dummy logo in subsitute for the actual logo?

I could only do one of the three things above. Which one did you want?

    Re: Alignment of logo

If you enlarge the image, it might get a bit blurry, but you won't need to change anything else. The one on the site now seems to be missing its top, but if you post the original one, I can grab it from there. Or you can post the image on the Pix Place board for assistance from eager graphics editors. Just specify the width you need, which will be very close to the width of all your DIVs put together.

I have tried this and it does not appear to work, l think it must be to do with the CSS.
Would you be able to amend the CSS if l were send it to you.

    Re: Alignment of logo

Sorry, I forgot that the width of your page is a percentage of the window. There might be a way to scale new_background2.jpg to the same percentage. Hmmm... of course, in the index.html, change the width and delete the height: width="100%" will do it. You also will need to delete the background image from your screen.css for #container (otherwise it peeks out from below the image used in index.html). Does that work, or would you prefer to have a fixed-width to your text content?
