    Envelopes Problem (Word 2003)

    I have a user who was having problems createing envelopes: She had a return address that was set to print several lines down from the top (to print under our Company pre-printed address). I have fixed it now so that when she wants to do a return address she deletes the period we have in there as a placeholder and presses enter 7 times and then the department name.     Word has pre-defined styles for the address (Envelope Address) and return address (Envelope Return). If you change the paragraph formatting of Envelope Return to have a lot of "space before," does that help?

    Another possibility is WordArt. Neil Rubenking's article "Custom Envelopes in Word" described the procedure. The envelope could be created once with the additional address in WordArt, positioned as desired. It can then be saved as a document (with the document to which it's attached simply being blank). I doubt this method would allow any merges, but it's an easy solution
