More than likely an alternative to your no. 4

    Re: 2-2-1

Sorry Jezza, it seems that my attempts to describe the puzzle was a little lacking!

Let me use the sweepstake example in context!
There may be a sentence like: I'll give you these --- tickets if you --- the ground near the meat ---.
This would translate in a proper sentence that will read: I'll give you these sweepstake tickets if you sweep the ground near the meat stake.

You must find a word that fits each sentence, and then break the word into 2 and each of these words also fit into the "---" spaces. The whole sentence must read properly then!

    Hope this clarifies things!
    Regards,
    Rudi

Excuse my slowness today Rudi, but could you put the correct number of underlines for each word (one underline per letter) to help my poor age-addled brain along...

And apologies to the lounge genii if this makes it too easy!

    What is a "meat stake"?

Do you have to keep the meat frozen to be able to pound it into the ground? <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    That clarifies things a lot.

    <img src=/S/rofl.gif border=0 alt=rofl width=15 height=15>...How can I deny you a <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> on that answer Leif!!
Howerver if you are seeking a more truer answer, here is a clue based on Lyra's request: 1. The - - - that - - created was an extension of his - - - - -. (The dashes represent the number of letters ti be filled!)

If you look at Kerry's answer in <post#=454900>post 454900</post#>, you will find the true construction of No. 12!

Are you saying my answers are true, but not true enough? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Question 10 looks a bit difficult now....

    Re: 2-2-1

I will accept an answer that makes an acceptable sentence. In context, your answers were acceptable, but since I've modified the puzzle to show the amount of characters each word takes, you will need to revise your answers...(sorry)

I see a space was truncated in the modification of No. 10. I'm fixing that now! Thanx
    Regards,
    Rudi
