    File size reduction (11.6355.6360 SP1)

I am trying to reduce the size of an Excel workbook (currently 23Mb) and would appreciate any pointers as to what features generate the most size in a file.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

See <post#=133055>post 133055</post#> for methods to reduce the size of a workbook (always make a backup copy first!)

If you have VBA code in the workbook, you can use the free VBA"]http://www.appspro.com/Utilities/codecleaner.htm">VBA Code Cleaner[/url] add-in.

Some common ones that come to mind:
Multiple Pivot tables with their own CACHE (see for example How to optimize PivotTable performance in Excel 2000, which discusses ways to reduce size)

Formulas in general, in particular IFs and Arrays (if possible copy and paste-special values formulas that do not need to be "live")

    Graphic images, embedded objects, etc
