Having two different Views of the same drive open at once - assuming you'd ever want to.
Drag a drive icon from My Computer to the desktop and create a shortcut. In 'Target' type something on the lines of :
C:Windowsexplorer.exe /e, /root,C: (for Drive C). Clicking this link will open drive C: in the dual-pane Explorer view, and you could also reduce the icons to 'List'.
Opening the drive from My Computer, on the other hand, will use the 'Classic' style (if that's what you have chosen) with, say, large icons selected. Tiling the two vertically will then allow you to show both views at once (see Screen capture).
Each can be switched from one to the other by clicking the Folder icon in the Menu bar.
