    Tray Clock (XP-Pro SP-2)

May seem like a silly question, but my tray clock shows the time, and the day of the week spelled out below.

Is there a way to change that day to the date, short or long form?

Use something like TClockEx - a search in this forum or Software should locate a link to it.

You can get TClockX here or take your pick of several different clocks at this address. You'll have to paste it into your browser because when I attempt to create a link with the address it morphs into something else when posted and takes you to the main page of the site.

Also, on a simpler note, have you tried making your taskbar double-high (two rows) ? That should produce a clock display of time, day of week and date.

You can achieve the same effect with TClockX by adding a vertical bar within the clock format in the setup properties. This results in a display of the time and date on 2 lines. This works very well with UXGA monitors at high resolution on Windows XP.

You're right Skitter. That is a better DL site.

I couldn't get to the website of the guy who wrote the program and the one that I found was a translation from German I think. It's a great little program. Mark (WyllyWylly) posted the setup I'm using a month or so ago, but I can't find the post at the moment. I seem to recall that he said it was on his personal site somewhere too. Have fun with it.

    Al:

No, I set my t-bar double high, and it shows the time on the top, and the DAY on the bottom... But it seems from the inputs that the fix is an add-on...

    Wonder why MS did that?

So, do I understand you to say that your tray DOESN'T look like mine at double-high size? I have no add-ons installed, just plain ol' Windows with SP2 (and this tray looked this way before SP2 also). Is your "Thursday" on the bottom line?

I must admit Chuck, that I'm having a hard time understanding this since I've done nothing special to my machine other than the height of the taskbar. Perhaps you SHOULD bite the bullet and use the utility recommended. However, would you please post a screenshot of a piece of your taskbar, similar to this, to show us what you're seeing. Maybe you might even need to drag the size of yours to three or four rows high to see what happens.

    Al,

Just to re-inforce you. I just unlocked my Taskbar and made it double height. The time/date automatically went to the same format as yours. I've also done nothing special to my machine.

Try switching off 'Classic View', or use TClockEx as I suggested above - it will give you what you want.

    Leif:

    Figgered as much...

Don't want to switch off the Classic view... don't like tuity-fruity... just want my tray clock to be "classic".

Oh well... already installed TClockEx... thanks.
