    Outbox Won't Empty (Outlook 2003)

I sent a ton of emails yesterday by using MS Word mailmerge to email. about 2000 of them went successfully. I'm sitting here with over 500 stuck in my outbox. They won't send, they won't delete, I'm at a roadblock.

Anybody got any thoughts on what caused this or how to get them out of the outbox?

    Thanks,

    --Jim

I figured it out ... as they were trying to be sent, they were "in use" and therefore I couldn't delete them. I still don't know why things stalled. Is there a built-in limit or something?

    Thanks,

Some ISP's and Exchange admins (I don't know whether you are on Exchange or not) limit the number of e-mails that can be sent from one PC within a certain span of time, to prevent spam.

I suppose that could be it. I'm not on exchange. I do this from home office by way of road runner. So maybe it just stopped at 2000. On the other hand, once I got the outbox emptied, I was able to resume normal (as far as I know) email usage.

    Thank-you for your input.
