    Can see Camera (XP SR2)

My boss has an IBM Thinkpad T41 Type 2373-705. When he connects a coolpix 4500 camera to the usb port, nothing happens after turning on the camera. If I plug it into my usb port on my Netvista desktop, the coolpix shows up as a removable drive.

How do I resolve this with the Thinkpad?

Do you know for sure that the USB port is working? What does 'Device Manager' show?

Yes, he is using his mouse on 1 port and connects a printer to port 2 at home.

Use TweakUI from Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP to see that the drive letter is enabled under the 'My Computer | Drives section.

I'm wondering if the mouse is causing problems. An old boss seemed to have problems with his Thinkpad and palm.

Anyway, my current boss has gone for the day and his laptop is with him. I'll have to investigate next week.
