Autocomplete?

I am unable to clear the facility in IE that automatically presents a list of options to fill in on Internet forms when I type a few of the first letters of the response. i.e. I want to type "Randy" - after typing "R" a list with "Randy," "Ralph," and "radical" appears. I thought this was called Autocomplete; however, using the procedure outlined for clearing Autocomplete in IE's help system does not clear the drop-down list of choices. How can I clear these things and start over?

I use IE 5.50.xx on Win ME. Thanks! - Randy

Randy:
Invoke the autocomplete drop down list. Move your mouse down to an entry you don't want (don't click). While it's highlighted press the Delete key.

It always pays to check the threads before posting as this was covered in my post <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=ie&Number=41262&page=0&view =collapsed&sb=5>here. Also I always try a search before posting. Helps to make me look smarter than I really am!
