days of the week in calender (2000 / 2003)

In both versions of Outlook I have used, and on different computers, the weekly in calendar, which shows the seven days in two columns and three rows, with the weekend days in one box, dos'nt show the day of the week. I attach a screen shot of the situation. I gather that days of the week should be shown and wonder how to make this happen. Thanks for any help.

This depends on the Long date format in the Regional Settings / Regional and Language Options control panel (Customize..., Date tab). Make sure that the Long date format contains dddd (the code for the full name of the day Sunday ... Saturday) or ddd (the code for the abbreviation of the day Sun ... Sat).
You will have to quit and restart Outlook after changing the control panel setting to see the day of the week in the calendar.
