Copying everything from one table cell to the rest

I have a "labels" page which is eight rows by two columns.

I have set up a 1 row by 2 column table in the top left cell of the page, and put formatted text in various fonts and colours into it, and adjusted all the margins and so on.

I want to copy the whole cell, formatting and all, to all the other cells in that page, keeping the left and right margins, and so on.

There must be an easy way of doing this (he says, hopefully!)?

    Thanks

    Is the following too naive?

Position the mouse pointer with its "point" just inside the lleft margin of the top left cell.
Clicking should now select the entire top left cell (with the 1 row by 2 column nested table in it)
Cut to the clipboard (Ctrl+X or Edit | Cut or ...)
Select the entire table (Alt+Num5 or Table | Select | Table)
Paste (Ctrl+V or Edit | Paste or ...)

That would be fine, but for the fact that the 1x2 cell is now hard against the top of each main table cell, whereas I would like it centred vertically within each cell (as it was in the first cell).

    Thanks

If I try that, all cells will be centered vertically. I am using Word 2002 SP-3; which version are you using?

This is Word 2003 SP1 -- but I don't know if this is significant.

    John,

I did something very similar to this by bookmarking the contents of the first cell and including a REF field in all the other cells. (I was producing tickets, so had a SEQ field in each cell too, but you get the idea).

    Stuart

I tried this, but was getting an error message in several table cells, so I've just put a CRLF at the top of each cell, and cut and pasted a correctely-formatted cell everywhere.

Seems a fairly awkward task, though, for something that should be fairly straightforward...

Thanks to Hans for his method, too.
