    vlookup+vlookup (Excel 2003)

    Hi

I use this formula to look up a name and add two numbers

    =VLOOKUP(A1,Names,2,0)+VLOOKUP(A1,Names,3,0) i.e

    Alan 1 2 = 3

Is possibe to do this the other way round for instance lookup a number and add two names i.e.

    123 Alan Bradshaw
Or is joining text a problem with vlookup

    Many Thanks

    Braddy

You can join text strings together by using &, for example:
    =VLOOKUP(...) & VLOOKUP(...)

If you want to include a space then change it to:
    =VLOOKUP(...) & " " & VLOOKUP(...)
