    Percent (2000)

I have a spreadsheet with a column that is text. I changed it to number by putting the formula value(A1) and then I copied it down. Then a copy and paste special, values. The values are 80, 100 etc. I want to format this column percent but when I do I get 10000% instead of 100%. I tried custom but nothing works. How can I do this?

Divide the values by 100. One possibility is to go back to the original data, and use =VALUE(A1)/100 as formula. If you don't have the original data any more, enter 100 in an empty cell, copy this cell to the clipboard, select the cells in column A, then Paste Special with the Divide option.
