    Find/replace special codes (Word/XP)

As best I can make out, the codes listed below are all assigned as meta-characters. I'd love to have an assignation for Roman Numerals (really getting into regular Expressions now), and can't think of a good reason not to use ^r. Any comments? I want to differentiate between regular arabic digits and strings which are thought to be roman numbers, thus I'll be transforming "2005" to "^#" and "MMV" to "^r", just to reduce traffic. Of course, MSoft won't recognise this, but I'd like to have a reasonable menmonic.

Thanks, Hans. My "^r" is still in the running, then, or at least, is still running after the carrot.
