    Drop lines (2003)

I have a graph, with figures in for each month. If during a month, there are no figures to enter, how can I get the line to drop down to zero, without having to enter a dummy record into my table? Or is this the only way

You do need dummy records, but you don't have to create them in the table itself.
If you have a table listing the months, you can create a query based on this table and on a query summarizing the data by month, with a left join on the month, i.e. display all records from the "months" table. You can use this query as data source for the chart.

No, the original table just contains dates, not months. It's the same table I used to create the pie chart you helped me with. I've been asked to create a line graph to show the figures. I've used the same query as the chart you helped me with previously. This graph works fine with the months, but say we have 2 defects problems in January and 4 paperwork problems in March, they want the line to drop down to zero.

The attached database illustrates what I meant. Look at the tblMonths table and at the two queries.

While editing the chart, I selected Tools | Options..., and in the Chart tab I specified 'zero' as value for empty cells.
