MS Photo Editor complaining about REGISTRY setting

Hi,
Pls help with an irritating prob that has suddenly started on my PC.

Each time I open MS Photo editor, it throws up this message (see pic attached!). When I choose OK, MS Photo editor opens, and I can use it as usual, BUT... the moment I click Save As, it exits (quits, closes down, bombs out...) immediately and I loose all my editing!

Any ideas?

Photo Editor is part of Office. You could try a repair, or de-select it from the installation options (to uninstall it), reboot , then reinstall it.

I'll give it a try Leif...tx. I'm just wondering how this came about. Can't I just go to the registry and find a refernce to MS Photo editor and re-establish a file format??? Or is it not as simple as that? (I'm just being lazy here!)
Regards,
Rudi

To be honest, I've no idea what you should look for in the registry!
You'll have to weigh up easiness versus safety yourself, but I'd have thought running the repair option would be simpler than poking about in the registry....

How'd I get into this equation, Rudi? I've not ever touted myself as a "registry guru." I don't even use the MS Photo Editor program.

I just figured you for it BigAl. I see that you regularly answer posts in the windows forum, and recall you replying to registry queries in the past. Whatever the case though, I was just under the impression that you were a guru in that area.
Anyways, take pride in the fact that I THOUGHT you were and revel in the abilities of the moment!
