Disabling A CommandbarButton (Excel2000)

Hi

I hope this is going to make sense.

I have a custom command bar with buttons to launch various utility macros. All works fine. So far so good.
The only niggly problem I have is the code doesn't run if the user clicks a button while they're inside a cell (ie editing it using F2).

To make this tidier and less confusing for my users, I'd like to be able to simply disable my buttons if there's a cell being edited - in the same way as, say, the File|Properties menu item greys out under the same circumstances.

I can't seem to find any way to trap that situation though.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

G

Yes, that is possible, but not trivial.

The entire method is described in this book:
