Normal.dot (Upgrade from 2000 to XP)

Have a lot of autotext/autocorrect entries in my normal.doc in Word 2000. Can I move my normal.dot file from Word 2000 and use it in Word XP or do I need to recreate all of these entries?

You can use your old Normal.dot, but it might be better to transfer the AutoText/AutoCorrect entries to a fresh Normal.dot.

See How can I import and export all my AutoCorrect entries, so they can be transferred to another machine? on the Word MVP site for AutoCorrect.

Make a copy of the old Normal.dot, name it for example Normal2000.dot, open it in Word 2002 and use Tools | Templates and Add-Ins..., Organizer, AutoText tab to transfer the AutoText entries.
