Pictures Display with Blank Bands (Word 2003)

If I open a document with pictures in it when I scroll to the area with the picture is appears with blank bands running through it. After viewing the picture for a few seconds it eventually appears completely. Is there a setting that can prevent this?

It could be a problem with your video card or its driver, or a general resources problem. Since the picture is eventually displayed correctly, I would guess that either your system is near the limit of what it can handle, or the video card is.

I'm not sure if there is a way to determine this, but it is possible to save a JPG file so that it displays progressively in a web browser. Supposedly this is good for low-bandwidth internet connections. I wonder whether Word 2003 is now trying to display this JPG file progressively, too?

I have updated the drivers and resolved the issue.

    Thanks.
